From The Square Roots to The Legendary Roots Crew, the Philadelphia hip hop band has always been well deserving of their highly respected status. Since 1994, The Rurals have been perfecting a unique style of live elements melted with thumping electronic music from their countryside haven.

Since then, the group have been prolific, releasing over 80 EPs and 12 long-players on their self-owned label, Peng. They've also worked with Motown, Naked Music, EMI South Africa, and Large Records amongst many others.

Maceo-style sax, guitar arpeggios, Dub style sub bass, and enrapturing Hammond chords.

They have also done a couple of remixes of Marvin Gayes Aint Nothing But The Real Thing for Motown records, and recently had 2 tracks commissioned for the hit US Television series Six Feet Under.

"SunStorm" is the latest album from Detroit-area born, DC-area based producer/multi-instrumentalist Zo!

Best known for his 2008 collaboration with Phonte on the cult classic "Zo and Tigallo Love the 80's" as well as his work on The Foreign Exchange's Grammy-nominated LP, "Leave It All Behind," 'SunStorm" is an extensive 12-track set that shows the ever-expanding range and depth of Zo! and the entire Foreign Exchange Music family.

Indie soul siren and American Idol vocalist Sy Smith serves up a slice of 70's soul on the breezy "Greatest Weapon Of All Time," and Lady Alma, a Philly veteran and stalwart of the UK house scene, takes it to the dance floor on the frenetic "Free Your Mind." The album's lead single, "This Could Be The Night," features Darien Brockington, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Eric Roberson, and Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother over a thumping two-step groove specifically intended for the 'steppers' of Zo's native Detroit. As this is such a diverse album, picking ‘one’ favourite track is problematic. From the beats side of things, the opener ‘Code’ and ‘Lay You Down’ will not disappoint, the jazzy ‘Touch’ and watch out as ‘Save Your Love For Me’ and ‘Love Conversation’ are growers; where did they find Jordana De Lovely?

Will I fall in love with ‘Beauty’ the same way? Yeah, I think I will and the one that should be the extended Moodyman remix (the 10 minute ‘bonus track’), he’s gone and done jazz-minimal vocal that is mesmerising.

So there might be some initial reservations but all said and done, José James has such a great voice and has surrounded himself in a Worldwide community of musician (all with the GP stamp of approval) so what could go wrong? Answer: Nothing. José James still reigns supreme and it’s yet another incredible and ‘must have’ album.

Elisha La'verne was an aspiring singer from a very young age and as she grew older she was constantly involved with music, be it studio work, shows or musicals. Japan, Leading to Elisha signing a Major recording deal with Avex Inc Japan. Elisha's debut album "Her Name Is....." was an instant success in Japan selling over 100,000 units. Currently Elisha has released 7 album’s in Japan, The various collaborations on these albums has taken Elisha from London to Japan, America and Europe working with numerous producers and countless Tours.
